We're down to the last 16, so I'm going to update my Indian Wells predictions, but firstly, after the jump, a look at how the early rounds went.

- Of the 4 favourites for the title before the tournament, 2 of them are still in. Serena Williams lost to her sister Venus in round 3, and Elina Svitolina lost to Carla Suarez Navarro in the same round.
- Whilst Kristina Mladenovic had the easiest overall draw, this didn't help her to victory, as she lost to Wang Qiang in the 3rd round. Zarina Diyas had the toughest overall draw and lost in round 1 to Serena Williams.
- Danielle Collins had the easiest 1st round draw, and won as expected against Taylor Townsend, and is still in the tournament! Despite having the toughest 1st round draw, Naomi Osaka won her match against Maria Sharapova, and is still in the tournament!
But what about the future? Let's take a look at what the rest of the tournament looks like
- Simona Halep now has a 27.93% chance of winning the title, Karolina Pliskova is the 2nd favourite at 16.75%, Caroline Wozniacki is 3rd at 16.62%, and Venus Williams 4th most likely with 8.92%.
- The easiest draws relative to their rankings go to Naomi Osaka, Venus Williams and Carla Suarez Navarro. They are the 8th, 4th and 7th most likely winners, but they are the 10th, 6th and 9th highest ranked players in the tournament.
- On the other hand, Daria Kasatkina has the toughest draw relative to her ranking, as she's the 9th most likely to win while having the 7th highest ranking of the remaining players. She also has the toughest 4th round match, as she's the 13th most likely player to win her next match.
- The player with the easiest next match compared to their ranking is Carla Suarez Navarro. She's the 3rd most likely to make it to the quarter finals, while she's the 9th highest ranked player remaining.
