- Of the 4 favourites for the title before the tournament, 2 of them are still in. Karolina Pliskova lost to Magdalena Rybarikova in round 2 and Petra Kvitova lost to Madison Brengle in round 2.
- Whilst Jennifer Brady had the easiest overall draw, this didn't help her to victory, as she lost to Dominika Cibulkova in the 2nd round, after winning the easiest 1st round draw.
